US Extends Temporary Protected Status for Hondurans, Automatic Employment Authorization Extension

The US Department of Homeland Security has extended the temporary protected status (TPS) for Hondurans for 18 months, from January 5, 2012, to July 5, 2013, due to ongoing living conditions disruptions in Honduras following Hurricane Mitch. Hondurans with TPS must re-register and apply for an extension of their Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) with US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
