HHS to Evaluate Petition for Special Exposure Cohort at Hanford Site

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced its decision to evaluate a petition to include a class of employees from the Hanford site in Washington state in the Special Exposure Cohort under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000. The proposed definition for the class includes all employees who were monitored for internal contamination and worked at the Plutonium Finishing Plant between January 1, 1987, and December 31, 1989.
