HRSA to Establish Negotiated Rulemaking Committee for Designation of Medically Underserved Populations and Health Professions Shortage Areas

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) plans to use a Negotiated Rulemaking process to establish a comprehensive methodology and criteria for Designating Medically Underserved Populations (MUPs) and Primary Care Health Professions Shortage Areas (HPSAs), following two previous publications of Proposed Rules that received public comments and resulted in a decision to reconsider and develop a new proposal.
