FDA Releases Draft Guidance on Reportable Food Registry Requirements

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a draft guidance document titled "Questions and Answers Regarding the Reportable Food Registry as Established by the Food and Drug Administration Amendments Act of 2007 (Edition 2)". The document addresses industry inquiries and provides information on the Reportable Food Registry requirements, as well as the new Safety Reporting Portal, following the implementation of the registry on September 8, 2009. The FDA is seeking comments from industry on the Reportable Food Registry requirements, particularly regarding the issue of "transfer".
