Notice of Intent to Prepare Joint Environmental Impact Statement and Environmental Impact Report for Alta East Wind Project

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the County of Kern, California, are announcing the start of a scoping process for a joint Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Alta East Wind Project, a 300-megawatt wind farm. The project, proposed by Alta Windpower Development LLC, may also involve an amendment to the California Desert Conservation Area (CDCA) Plan.
