US Fish and Wildlife Service Announces 12-Month Finding on Petition to List Gopher Tortoise as Threatened in Eastern Range

The US Fish and Wildlife Service has announced a 12-month finding on a petition to list the gopher tortoise as threatened in the eastern portion of its range, east of the Mobile and Tombigbee Rivers, and will add it to its candidate species list, pending further review and development of a proposed rule.
