U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Denies Listing of Amargosa River Mojave Fringe-Toed Lizard as Endangered or Threatened Distinct Population Segment

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has completed a 12-month review of a petition to list the Amargosa River population of the Mojave fringe-toed lizard as an endangered or threatened distinct population segment under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The Service has determined that the Amargosa River population does not meet the criteria for listing as a distinct population segment, and therefore will not be listed as endangered or threatened.
