Volvo Trucks North America Applies for Exemption from Federal Commercial Driver's License Requirement
Volvo Trucks North America has submitted an application to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for an exemption to allow two Swedish field test engineers to drive commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in the United States without holding a commercial driver's license (CDL). The exemption is requested to support a field test to meet future clean air standards and to test-drive Volvo prototype vehicles in real-world environments.
