Helena Nation Forest: Dalton Mountain Forest Restoration & Fuels Reduction Project

The Helena National Forest is proposing a forest restoration project on the Lincoln Ranger District, aiming to improve forest structure, enhance species composition, and reduce fire risk while allowing for controlled periodic fires. The project will involve various treatments across 18,240 acres, including mechanical harvesting and burning, to capture the value of removed trees in an economical approach.
