NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing in Western Gulf of Alaska to Prevent TAC Exceedance

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the offshore component in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska to prevent exceeding the allocated total allowable catch (TAC) for the 2010 fishing season.
