EPA Lodges Consent Decrees with ExxonMobil and Chevron for CERCLA Violations
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has lodged consent decrees with several companies, including ExxonMobil and Chevron, for allegedly violating the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) at their facilities in California and Texas. The EPA will oversee the implementation of the consent decrees, which require the companies to clean up contaminated sites and pay for the costs of remediation.
