Medicare Program; Identification of Backward Compatible Version of Adopted Standard for E-Prescribing and the Medicare Prescription Drug Program (NCPDP SCRIPT 10.6)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued an interim final rule allowing the voluntary use of the NCPDP SCRIPT 10.6 standard for e-prescribing transactions in the Medicare Part D electronic prescription drug program, which is a backward compatible update of the previously adopted NCPDP SCRIPT 8.1 standard.
