NICEATM Releases Reports on In Vitro Ocular Safety Testing Methods

The National Toxicology Program's Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM) has made available reports and recommendations for in vitro ocular safety testing methods, testing strategies, and the routine use of anesthetics, analgesics, and humane endpoints to minimize pain and distress. The reports have been transmitted to federal agencies for review and response, and provide guidance on pain management procedures and the use of the Cytosensor microphysiometer test method.
