Federal Agencies Must Obtain OMB Approval for Public Information Collection

Before collecting certain information from the public, federal agencies must receive approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and solicit public comment on proposed information collections, as mandated by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
