FHWA Withdraws Plans for 20 Highway Projects, Terminating Environmental Review Process
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has announced that 15 states, including the District of Columbia, have withdrawn their plans to prepare 20 environmental impact statements (EISs) for proposed highway projects. This decision was made after a review by FHWA Division Offices in collaboration with state transportation departments, which determined that nine projects were no longer viable and have been formally cancelled.
