FMCSA Extends Compliance Date for Intermodal Equipment Inspection and Maintenance

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has extended the compliance date for its December 2009 rule on inspecting, repairing, and maintaining intermodal equipment (IME) until June 30, 2011, to allow for a rulemaking proceeding to address an issue raised by the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA) and the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL)
