USDA Adopts New Assessment Rate for California Dried Prunes

The US Department of Agriculture has finalized a rule reducing the assessment rate for the Prune Marketing Committee from $0.30 to $0.16 per ton of dried prunes, effective for the 2009-10 crop year and beyond, in an effort to align the committee's revenue with its budget cuts.
