FEMA Amends Puerto Rico Disaster Declaration to Include Additional Recovery Period

The U.S. government has amended a major disaster declaration for Puerto Rico, which was initially issued in response to Hurricane Irene, to include an additional period of recovery from August 21 to August 24, 2011. The amended declaration is effective as of September 28, 2011, and provides additional time for affected individuals and businesses to apply for physical and economic injury loans.
