Atlantic Coastal Fisheries Cooperative Management Act Provisions; Application for Exempted Fishing Permit; Horseshoe Crabs

The Acting Director of the Office of Sustainable Fisheries has made a preliminary determination that a fishing permit application for horseshoe crabs submitted by Limuli Laboratories warrants further consideration. The permit would allow up to 10,000 horseshoe crabs to be harvested from the Carl N. Shuster Jr. Horseshoe Crab Reserve for biomedical purposes, with data collection requirements.
