U.S. Department of Energy Announces Record of Decision for Commercial Production of High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium

The U.S. Department of Energy has announced a Record of Decision for the commercial production of High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU), as outlined in the Final Environmental Impact Statement (DOE/EIS-0559). The decision supports the acquisition of HALEU enriched to at least 19.75 and less than 20 weight percent uranium-235 over a 10-year period.
