NOAA Proposes Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary in California

NOAA proposes to designate the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary in central California to recognize the area's ecological, historical, archaeological, and cultural resources. The proposed sanctuary would encompass 5,617 square miles of submerged lands and marine waters along the coast of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
