EPA to Consider Washington's Request to Redesignate Whatcom County SO2 Nonattainment Area

The State of Washington has submitted a request to the EPA to redesignate a portion of Whatcom County, WA, surrounding the closed Intalco Aluminum LLC, to attainment for the 2010 sulfur dioxide standard. The EPA is proposing to approve Washington's plan to maintain attainment in the area.
