Coast Guard Extends Safety Zone Around DEEPWATER HORIZON Offshore Drilling Unit in Gulf of Mexico

The US Coast Guard has extended the temporary safety zone around the riser of the DEEPWATER HORIZON, a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit, at Mississippi Canyon 252 in the Outer Continental Shelf until further notice, to protect personnel involved in ongoing response efforts and prevent oil spills and natural gas releases.
