Coast Guard Establishes Temporary Safety Zone on Illinois River for Firework Display

The U.S. Coast Guard is creating a temporary safety zone along the Illinois River, from Mile 000.5 to 001.5, to safeguard people and vessels from potential hazards caused by a fireworks display on the river, and entry will be restricted unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Upper Mississippi River or a designated representative.
