Coast Guard Harmonizes Regulations with IMSBC Code to Simplify Hazardous Materials Transport

The U.S. Coast Guard is updating its rules to align with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) new International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) amendments, which make the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code mandatory for vessels carrying certain hazardous materials in bulk, effective January 1, 2024.
