Pipeline Safety: PHMSA Confirms Effective Date for Updated Industry Standards

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has confirmed the effective date for the updated regulations incorporating American Petroleum Institute (API) recommended practices RP 1170 and RP 1171, which address the design and operation of salt caverns used for natural gas storage and the functional integrity of natural gas storage in depleted reservoirs and aquifer reservoirs.
