NRC Confirms Effective Date for Direct Final Rule on Spent Fuel Storage Casks

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has confirmed the effective date of February 23, 2026, for a direct final rule related to the NAC-UMS Universal Storage System, which amended the certificate of compliance to correct licensing basis deficiencies and updated the address in the CoC.
