NRC Adopts Risk-Informed Regulatory Framework for Advanced Reactors

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is amending its regulations to create a risk-informed, technology-inclusive framework for commercial nuclear plants, including advanced reactor designs that may not use light-water technology, in response to the Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act (NEIMA).
