US Department of Justice Considers Revisions to Americans with Disabilities Act Regulation for Next Generation 9-1-1 Services

The US Department of Justice is considering revising its regulation to ensure that public safety answering points (PSAPs) provide direct access to Next Generation 9-1-1 services for individuals with disabilities, as the existing regulation was published in 1991 and does not account for modern telecommunications technologies such as the internet and wireless devices.
