EPA Proposes Federal Implementation Plan for San Joaquin Valley PM 2.5 Nonattainment Area

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a Federal Implementation Plan (FIP) to address the San Joaquin Valley's noncompliance with the 1997, 2006, and 2012 fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS), which would impact residential wood burning heaters and rural open areas.
