DHS Amends Regulations to Allow Asylum Officers to Consider Certain Bars During Fear Screenings

The Department of Homeland Security is updating its regulations to enable asylum officers to assess the applicability of certain bars to asylum and statutory withholding of removal during fear screenings, aiming to facilitate faster removal of noncitizens barred from asylum.
