NOAA Removes Mariana Trench National Marine Sanctuary Nomination from Inventory

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has removed the Mariana Trench National Marine Sanctuary (NMS) nomination from consideration for designation as a national marine sanctuary, following a five-year review process that included a 45-day public comment period. The decision was made after NOAA synthesized information gathered from the public process and completed an internal analysis.
