Coast Guard Issues Interim Rule for DUKW Amphibious Passenger Vessels

The US Coast Guard has issued an interim rule to implement safety measures for DUKW amphibious passenger vessels, mandated by the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, following the 2018 sinking of the Stretch Duck 7 on Table Rock Lake, Missouri, which resulted in 17 fatalities.
