FAA Waives Minimum Usage Requirement for NYC Airports Due to Staffing Issues
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a limited waiver of the minimum usage requirement for 'slots' at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) due to staffing issues at the New York Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facility. The FAA is also prioritizing returned operations at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to help carriers establish a baseline for the next season.
