FRA Issues Safety Advisory 2023-06 on Roadway Maintenance Machine Safety

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has issued Safety Advisory 2023-06 to emphasize the importance of clear communication and compliance with rules and procedures for the safety of roadway workers operating or near roadway maintenance machines (RMMs). Railroads and contractors are advised to review and update their safety rules, communicate changes to employees, and conduct additional safety briefings to raise awareness of RMM hazards.
