U.S. Navy Requests Modification of Marine Mammal Regulations for Hawaii-Southern California Training and Testing Study Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has received a request from the U.S. Navy to modify regulations and Letters of Authorization (LOAs) for taking marine mammals incidental to Navy training and testing activities in the Hawaii-Southern California Training and Testing Study Area between 2018 and 2025. The Navy seeks additional authorization for two more large whale strikes by serious injury or mortality by vessel strike.
