California Air Resources Board Requests Waiver of Preemption for Advanced Clean Cars II Regulations

The California Air Resources Board has notified the Environmental Protection Agency that it has adopted regulations for new 2026 and subsequent model year vehicles, and is seeking a waiver of preemption under the Clean Air Act for the Advanced Clean Cars II regulations, which include requirements for conventional and zero-emission vehicles.
