NRC Grants Exemptions to Southern Nuclear Operating Company for Certain Nuclear Power Plants

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is making a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for proposed exemptions to Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) for several nuclear power plants in Georgia and Alabama. The exemptions would allow SNC to use vertical barbed wire fence toppings in certain sections of the plants' protected areas.
