EPA Establishes Tolerance Exemption for Sodium Dioctyl Sulfosuccinate
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a tolerance exemption for sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate, a chemical used in antimicrobial pesticide formulations, when applied to food-contact surfaces in public eating places, dairy-processing equipment, and food-processing equipment and utensils. This exemption was granted after a petition submitted by Spring Regulatory Sciences on behalf of Evonik Corporation, eliminating the need to set a maximum permissible level for residues of the chemical.
