30-Day Notification of Nonpayment of Rent in Multi-Family Housing Direct Loan Programs

The Rural Housing Service (RHS) is issuing a final rule requiring Multi-Family Housing Direct Loans and Grants Program borrowers to provide tenants with a 30-day written notice prior to lease termination or eviction for nonpayment of rent, as mandated by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). This rule applies regardless of a national emergency or emergency rental assistance funds availability.
