EPA Finalizes Alternative RIN Retirement Schedule for Small Refineries

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is setting a February 1, 2024 deadline for small refineries to comply with their 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) obligations, including any RIN deficits from 2019, under an optional alternative retirement schedule for renewable identification numbers (RINs).
