NMFS Proposes Regulatory Amendments to Pacific Whiting Fishery Program

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) proposes regulatory amendments to the Pacific Coast Groundfish Trawl Rationalization Program for non-tribal Pacific whiting fishery participants, aiming to increase operational flexibility for the MS sector. The proposed rule adjusts the primary Pacific whiting season start date, removes certain regulations, and allows MS and CP vessels to operate in the same year.
