NOAA Closes Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Fisheries for September Subquota Time Period

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has closed the General Category fishery for large Atlantic bluefin tuna in the Atlantic Ocean for the September subquota time period, allowing fishermen to tag and release BFT of all sizes. The fishery will reopen on October 1, 2022, and previously scheduled restricted fishing days will resume for the October through November subquota time period.
