EPA Finds California Failed to Submit Contingency Measures for 2008 Ozone NAAQS in Coachella Valley and West Mojave Desert
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has taken final action to determine that California has not submitted required State Implementation Plan (SIP) revisions to meet Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements for the 2008 8-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) in the Coachella Valley and West Mojave Desert nonattainment areas, forcing the EPA to establish a 2-year deadline for implementing Federal Implementation Plans (FIPs) to address the issue.
