FHA to Allow Private Flood Insurance for FHA-Insured Mortgages

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has finalized a rule allowing FHA-insured mortgage holders to purchase private flood insurance instead of the mandatory government-backed policy, starting from a date to be determined.
