Medical Certification Standards for Commercial Balloon Operations

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is updating its regulations to require commercial pilots of balloons to hold a valid second-class medical certificate when flying for compensation or hire, with some exceptions for flight training. The changes also address medical certification requirements for special tests and minor updates to the BasicMed regulations.
