U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Classifies Whitebark Pine as Threatened Species Under Endangered Species Act

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has determined that the whitebark pine, a tree species found in western North America, is threatened under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, and finalized a rule to conserve the species, excluding critical habitat designation at this time.
