US Fishery Regulation Changes to Promote Flexibility in Pacific Whiting Fishery

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has implemented changes to the Pacific Coast Groundfish Trawl Rationalization Program, allowing participants in the non-tribal Pacific whiting fishery to operate in the at-sea sectors with greater flexibility, starting from May 1, 2024, and removing certain regulations that may have hindered the attainment of the Pacific whiting allocation.
