US Proposes Rule to Expand Seafood Import Monitoring Program

The US Department of Commerce's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has proposed a rule to add species or groups of species to the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP), established under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA), and to clarify SIMP regulations regarding importer of record and chain of custody records.
