Adoption of Energy Efficiency Standards for New Construction of HUD- and USDA-Financed Housing: Preliminary Determination and Solicitation of Comment

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have made a preliminary determination that the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ASHRAE 90.1-2019 energy standards will not negatively impact the affordability and availability of single and multifamily housing covered by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA). The agencies will solicit public comment on this determination.
